Producer Sanjay Kohli, known for his comedy shows Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain and Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. He is currently under home quarantine.
“I am extremely worried. It’s a nightmare and pray for him that he’s alright soon,” says Benaifer Kohli.
The show’s lead actress Shubhangi Atre aka Angoori Bhabhi also called Benaifer a few minutes back. She told E Times TV , “I think there are too many asymptomatic people out there who take paracetamol and a cough syrup if and when they’ve symptoms and get alright without knowing that are carrying the deadly virus. It’s a crazy situation, right now. But I am sure Sanjayji will be fine in a week or two.”
Benaifer says that Sanjay has quarantined himself in their room and she has now moved out into another room. “Actually, we have 2 flats that are inter-linked. So, the food is kept near the entry of the room where he has isolated himself. But we are not doing any calls, no video calls, no normal calls. It will just strain him.”
How did it all start, we asked? Replied Mrs Kohli, “Sanay developed slight cough the other day, after which we consulted a doctor. The first X-ray indicated pneumonia. We followed that up with a COVID-19 test in the next one hour.”
Shubhangi, whose brother-in-law is a doctor, adds that the awareness of COVID-19 has to be accompanied by hygiene. “I still see so many people spitting all around. I, in fact, chase them and bring them back to where they spit and give them a lecture. Unless we all take up the cudgels, be it any issue, solutions are not going to come on their own.”
Benaifer and Sanjay’s ‘Excuse Me Madam’ will go on air soon and coincidentally, Rajesh Kumar, who will play the lead in the show, had also tested positive for coronavirus a week ago.
